School of Sound Recording
The School of Sound Recording opened in memory of Charlie Jones, who had worked for over 28 years in the ‘sound industry’ and was one of the country’s leading sound engineers. Sadly, Charlie died on 1st June 2006.
In respect of Charlie’s life, a course to offer student placements, increase ‘hands on’ opportunities and bring a wealth of knowledge was introduced.
As part of this course, UK Rigging carry out a day to introduce the students to rigging with particular focus on rigging PA.
The day was both theoretical and practical and students were taught how to mark out and the very basics of rigging a line array.
